Log a workout. Watch your calorie budget update.

TrainPlate builds your training plan around your goal, your age, and whatever equipment you've got — then keeps your calorie target in sync with what you actually did today. One app instead of three.

How it works

Most people run a workout app, a calorie app, and some mental math to connect them. TrainPlate is the three of those in one place.

01 — PLAN

Get a plan that fits

Tell it your goal, your schedule, and where you train — gym, home, or nothing but a floor. It writes the program, including which muscles you want to bring up.

02 — TRAIN

Follow it and log as you go

It runs the session, records your sets, and estimates what you burned. That estimate goes straight into today's calorie budget.

03 — EAT

Eat to an honest number

Photograph your plate, scan a barcode, or search. Trained hard today? The target is higher. Rest day? Lower. Left half your dinner? Photograph the leftovers and it comes off the log.

02

What's in it

Marked with what ships at launch and what comes after, so nobody's guessing.

001

Equipment scan

Point your camera at your garage, spare room, or a hotel gym. The plan gets written around what's actually there.

002

Photo logging, with leftovers

A photo logs the meal. If you don't finish it, a second photo of the plate subtracts what you left. Other apps assume you ate everything; this one doesn't.

LAUNCH
003

Muscle priorities

Pick what you want to bring up — glutes, arms, back, whatever — and the program gives those areas more volume. This is normal programming; it just usually costs a coach.

LAUNCH
004

Age-aware programming

Recovery time, exercise selection, and protein targets shift with age. A 52-year-old shouldn't be handed a 22-year-old's program, and here they aren't.

005

Sessions that bend

Only have 20 minutes? The workout compresses instead of getting skipped. Missed a week? The plan steps back down instead of pretending you didn't.

Apple Health

Workouts, calories, and weight sync both ways. Everything you log can be exported in one tap.

Comeback Mode

For coming back after an injury, an illness, or just a long gap. Starts you lighter, builds back slower, and swaps out anything you flag. It's not rehab — see a professional for that — it's the part after.

ROADMAP
008

Dinner suggestions

After a workout, it can suggest meals that fit what's left of today's budget and macros, instead of leaving you to do arithmetic at the fridge.

ROADMAP
009

Career Mode

Your body is the character and the stats are real: muscle-group stat bars from your actual lifts, skill trees for bodyweight progressions, and test days framed as a match against the you from six weeks ago. No fake points, nothing decays, and you can switch it all off.

Things you won't find here

Some standard features of this industry aren't features. We're skipping them on purpose.

Belly-fat targeting

You can't choose where fat comes off. No app can change that, including this one. What works is a calorie deficit plus building muscle in the places you care about — so that's what the plans do.

Suspiciously exact numbers

A photo of a burrito bowl is an estimate, so we show it as one: 620–710, not "667". You can tap any number to see where it came from.

Crash-diet presets

There are no aggressive-deficit options and no targets below safe minimums. If your goal is ambitious, you'll get there on a plan you can actually stay on.

Guilt mechanics

Streaks come with grace days, and a missed week recalibrates the plan instead of resetting you to zero. Software shouldn't sulk at you.

Pricing tricks

No ads on the free tier, no features quietly moving behind the paywall later, and cancelling takes two taps inside the app.

Want to help it exist?

TrainPlate is one person building in public, self-funded. The waitlist is the biggest help. If you want to do more, you can chip in toward the unglamorous parts — Apple's developer fees, food-database licensing, testing hardware. No perks promised yet, but early backers get founding-member pricing when it exists.

Questions

When does it launch?

The iOS beta goes out through TestFlight, waitlist first. The public App Store release comes after the beta has proven itself with real users.

Can it help me lose belly fat?

Not the way ads promise, no — nothing can direct where fat comes off. What it can do is run the right deficit and build muscle in the areas you care about, which is the thing that actually changes how you look. We'd rather tell you that up front.

I'm coming back from an injury. Will it work for me?

Comeback Mode (on the roadmap) is built for exactly this: lighter restart, slower progression, and it swaps out any movement you flag. It isn't rehab or medical care though — get cleared by a professional first, and TrainPlate handles the getting-back-into-it part.

Is the free tier actually usable?

Yes. Logging, a training plan, barcode scanning, and Apple Health sync all work without paying, and there are no ads. Pro adds the camera-based features and the deeper programming.

Android?

iOS first, Android after it's solid. Joining the waitlist is the best way to vote for it.

What happens to my data?

It's yours. Export it anytime, delete it anytime, and it doesn't get sold. Health data moves through Apple Health under Apple's privacy rules. Details in the privacy policy.
